After moving to the Irvine area, my husband and I have been able to explore and try lots of new restaurants. Once we find a restaurant we really love, we find that we keep going back to it many more times before we try another new restaurant. One of our recent favorites right now is North Italia. It is an amazing Italian restaurant that makes all of their pasta and pizza from scratch. You can really tell the difference between store bought and homemade pasta. One can even see them hand making the pasta in the kitchen.

This was our fifth visit and we decided to try a few new dishes this time, which is quite challenging because I love the usual ones we have. We started with the Prosciutto Bruschetta as our appetizer. A bruschetta is a toasted piece of bread with different toppings. This bruschetta has prosciutto, grilled asparagus and crescenza cheese. The crescenza cheese is very similar to a brie cheese. The Prosciutto Bruschetta has a great combination of textures and flavors. I wouldn’t say this is a first date dish. I looked like a mess trying to eat it with the prosciutto on top.

For dinner, we split a Bacon & Egg pizza and Chicken Parmesan. The Bacon & Egg pizza is not like any other pizza. There is a fried egg baked in the middle of the pizza, so it oozes over all of the slices when the slices are pulled apart. There is also grilled asparagus, potato pieces, and bacon. The homemade crust is just amazing! Chicken Parmesan is my go-to Italian dish. This Chicken Parmesan has a simple cream pasta sauce instead of a traditional red sauce. The chicken had a wonderful flavor and was the perfect thickness.

Not only were the previously mentioned dishes delicious, but the following have been our favorites as well: Grilled Artichokes, Spaghetti & Meatballs, Chicken Pesto Pasta, and brunch as well!
