To continue the peach dessert trend, I made these Peach and Blueberry Crumbles from Ina Garten’s “Barefoot Contessa at Home” and was almost able to finish all of the peaches. I find these crumbles more delicious than the peach cobblers I made the other week because of the crumble topping and the blueberries.
In fifth grade, we each had to pick a state to research and make a dish to prepare for the class that represented the food from that state. I chose Maine and I made a blueberry buckle. It has become a family favorite for dessert and breakfast. I have been wanting to expand my breakfast repertoire and found that Ina Garten has the best blueberry muffin recipes. This time I tried the Blueberry Streusel Muffins from “Barefoot Contessa: Back to Basics”.
After over a half hour of searching through my cookbooks, I came across this Baked Chocolate Pudding recipe from Ina Garten’s “Back to Basics.” I had all of the ingredients already on hand and it seemed quick to make, which was helpful since I decided to bake on a 90 degree day.
As you know, I really enjoy cooking from Ina Garten’s cookbooks. This dinner was all from “Make It Ahead”, which is great for preparing meals ahead of time and then cooking them right before dinner. For the main entrée I made a Prosciutto Wrapped Pork Tenderloin and Stuffed Zucchini as a side dish.
After looking through the same cookbook as my last post, “Barefoot Contessa at Home” by Ina Garten, the Summer Fruit Crostata caught my eye and inspired me to bake a summer dessert. This crostata is different than other crostata recipes because there’s a crumble topping. It adds a little extra sweetness to the fruit.
Celebrating the 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays, especially when I get to bake things in patriotic colors. This year I decided to bake a Mixed Berry Pavlova from Ina Garten’s “Barefoot Contessa at Home”.
