This is the last blueberry recipe with the blueberries we picked from the local farm! This recipe is from the “Elsah Landing Heartland Cooking” cookbook which my mom has had for a long time. It always has really good bread recipes.
All in Bread
This is the last blueberry recipe with the blueberries we picked from the local farm! This recipe is from the “Elsah Landing Heartland Cooking” cookbook which my mom has had for a long time. It always has really good bread recipes.
Growing up my mom would always make cinnamon bread for anyone moving into their new home. It has always been one of my favorite loaves of bread that she would make. I decided to make cinnamon bread muffins that reminded me of hers.
I love to eat this banana chocolate chip bread as a snack, dessert, or side with dinner. It has always been my dad’s favorite. This recipe is from the Elsah Landing Restaurant cookbook. Elsah is a small town in Illinois and my mom has had this cookbook for a long time.
For 4th of July, I made the Monkey Bread from “Crumb: The Baking Book” cookbook was written by one of the finalists in Season 2, Ruby Tandoh. It was fairly simple, but I had to allow over 3 hours to make it. I wanted to sleep in, but I knew if I did I would be eating this for afternoon tea.
In fifth grade, we each had to pick a state to research and make a dish to prepare for the class that represented the food from that state. I chose Maine and I made a blueberry buckle. It has become a family favorite for dessert and breakfast. I have been wanting to expand my breakfast repertoire and found that Ina Garten has the best blueberry muffin recipes. This time I tried the Blueberry Streusel Muffins from “Barefoot Contessa: Back to Basics”.
A way to my husband’s heart is through pretzel bread. I had made pretzel rolls for one of our first Valentine’s days, but I needed to top those. I decided to make Alton Brown’s Soft Pretzels this year. Homemade pretzels are simple and delicious right out of the oven.
Since the winter is citrus season, I have been enjoying grapefruit every morning for breakfast. As I was thinking about my next post, I thought it would be interesting to find different uses for grapefruit. I came across this Morning Muffins recipe from “Crumb” by Rudy Tandoh. The recipe only makes 6 muffins because these muffins are best right out of the oven.
After some background research about biscuits and the ingredients needed, I decided to dive into the baking without looking at the recipes. This of course is a challenge for me since I like to follow recipes to a “T”. I am glad to say that it turned out well and I wanted to share the progression with you all!
