Baked Ribs

Baked Ribs

One of my favorite meals growing up was ribs with coleslaw, cornbread and watermelon. I purchase two or three racks of ribs from Costco and put them in the freezer. Pull a rack of ribs out the night before and let it thaw in the refrigerator. You save money by making them at home versus getting them at a restaurant. Plus they are super easy!

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. My baking dishes are too small to fit the whole rack of ribs in one pan, so I cut the rack in half and use two different pans. Line the pan with aluminum foil and allow plenty of extra foil to overhang over the sides. This hopefully reduces the amount of cleaning of the pan. Place the rack of ribs in the pan. Rub both sides of the rack of ribs with BBQ sauce. Completely cover and close off any ways for the juice to run out of the foil. Bake for 3 hours.

Take out the ribs and increase the temperature to 350 degrees. Uncover the ribs for the last hour of baking. Brush with additional BBQ sauce. Bake for 15 minutes. Flip the ribs and brush with more BBQ sauce. Bake for another 15 minutes. Remove the ribs from the pan and cut on a cutting board.

These delicious ribs literally fall off the bone as soon as you cut into them. This ribs recipe allows anyone without a grill to make them. They are quite simple to make, but requires a lot of hours in the oven. It tends to heat up the house a bit. Enjoy!
